Sigifredo

This is a portrait of Sigifredo Cruz. Originally from Machu Picchu, Peru, Sigifredo sat for this portrait. I found Sigifredo when searching for a good portrait subject as a sample project for my book, Painter IX Creativity: Digital Artist's Handbook. I visited the San Francisco Day Labor Program and Sigifredo stood out from the crowd. His face seemed to speak volumes, a lifetime of experiences. He didn't speak English and I didn't speak Spanish, but we managed to communicate sufficiently. He was thrilled with the result and has sent a print to his family in Peru. I exhibited this painting at the 2004 Open Studios and I was honored that Sigifedo turned up.
