There are many other excellent resources for learning Painter. I recommend learning from different teachers and resources - all have unique strengths to offer. Other books include Cher Threinen-Pendarvis' Painter 8 Wow! book and Don Seegmiller's Digital Character Design and Painting (ISBN 1-58450-232-0). Karen Sperling, Helen Yancy and Lynda Wynman all have Painter CDs (and Jane Conner-ziser will also be coming out with her Painter/Photoshop CD).

Painter is a fabulous paint and image manipulation program that I use for almost all my artwork. It was originally created by Fractal Design, subsequently published by MetaCreations, and now published by Corel.

COLOR THEORIES: The Good, The Bad and the Useless
A practical down-to-earth introduction to color theory and basic color principles for the painter. The principles explained here apply equally to working with digital paint as to working with traditional pigment based paints. Well worth reading.

US Copyright Office Library of Congress web site. You'll find explanation and forms for registering your own copyrights. I recommend you register the copyright for any artwork you are serious about protecting.
