This painting is based on a photograph (below) that I took of Manu and Kat at the 9:20 Special (a weekly swing dance that Manu co-organizes) in San Francisco. I enjoyed playing with the brush strokes on the canvas, treating them as an extension of the dance. I like the way that Manu and Kim are looking in different directions and are yet so connected and so enjoying the playfullness of the moment.
