Almost 200 people enjoyed the unveiling of my series of portraits, “San Francisco Bay Area Women of Style” at Nordstrom. The seventeen expressive, dynamic, contemporary portraits, three of which are shown above (clockwise from the top: Anna Mazzucchi Freiman, Carla Falaschi and Jan DiNuoscio), reflect the varied stories and styles of inspiring women from all over the Bay Area. The portrait subjects include a museum director, media personalities, a port commissioner, publishers and many others, all making an impact on the community. From collages to live portraits, this series reveals many facets, personal and public, of this diverse group of women. In respect of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month I will be donating a portion of proceeds from this series to Friends of Faith, a local nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer and helping underserved and under-insured women in their battle against breast cancer. I will also donate to The Raphael House, a shelter in San Francisco dedicated to helping at-risk children and their families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
The seventeen portrait subjects whose portraits were on display at Nordstrom are:

“My paintings evolve like improvisational dance, each following its own path, colors being chosen intuitively, every moment unfolding surprises. I paint with passion, striving to express my subjects’ character in an emotionally powerful way that transcends surface impressions. I love the way each painting is this series is so different, each reflecting the different perosnalities of all the wonderful women depicted.” ~ Jeremy Sutton
