2008
36" x 24", pigment ink and acrylic on canvas
This portrait of pioneering entrepreneur and philanthropist Dame Stephanie Shirley was created as part of a lecture I gave in July, 2008, at the Oxford Internet Institute, an institute that Dame Stephanie endowed in 2001. I was demonstrating the differences and parallels between creating a digital portrait from life (direct observation) versus from a photographic reference.
