This portrait, created as part of a commissioned paint animation artwork I created for Apple Computer, is based on a contemplative photo of Albert Einstein that was part of Apple's 'Think Different' advertising campaign. The image shown here is the final frame in the paint animation. This portrait forms part of my Great Thinkers series (see Leonardo da Vinci and Sir Isaac Newton)

Here is an earlier portrait I created of Einstein in 1991, one of my earliest computer portraits.

My interest in Einstein stems back to my Physics days when I was amazed at the elegance and simplicity of Special Relativity. This earlier portrait was created freehand directly on my first Macintosh, a Macintosh IIfx (20/160), using a Wacom graphics tablet & pressure sensitive stylus, and SuperMac PixelPaint Pro 2.0 software.
